Today Gramin Bank of Aryavart has opened its first “Computer based KIOSK outlet” in Triveni Nagar of Lucknow City. The Kiosk is linked with base branch “Nirala Nagar” around 3 km away. The location of the Kiosk is such that it covers residents of three main mohallas Triveni Nagar, Faizullaganj and Khadra where a large number of people are from poor and weaker section of the society. The Kiosk operator Mr Ashish Kumar Gupta engaged directly by the Bank, is a local person and has good reputation in locality. The Kiosk is likely to cover over 2000 households of these localities. The area is unbanked and needed a banking outlet. The outlet opened by GBA will provide facilities of opening of small savings accounts, transactions from these accounts from the outlet. The model is based on cordless mode. The transactions will be on line and customers will have option to transact from branch also. The customers will have facility to open new SB/RD accounts, transact these accounts, transfer the funds from their accounts to any accounts anywhere in GBA. Soon the remittance facility to account holder and non-account holder to any bank will be implemented through the Kiosk. Inaugurating the first operational KIOSK of the RRBs, Hon’able Sri N K Gupta Chief General Manager, NABARD, Head Office and Smt Sangeeta Mehra, AGM RO NABARD, Lko appreciated the initiative taken by the Gramin Bank of Aryavart in Financial Inclusion. Sri J S Ravi Kumar, the Chairman of the Bank informed that the KIOSK outlet will cover a large number of people of small means living in these localities particularly to around 1000 chiken workers of the area, who are hitherto not having any account with any bank. This will not only inculcate savings habit in them but they will also have access to bank for various other facilities like small loans, remittance, fund transfer etc. He also informed that Bank has already engaged 1358 Customer Service Providers through Corporate Business Correspondents and is providing doorstep banking facilities through POS machines. Keeping in view the encouraging experience of the fixed KIOSK model, the bank has entered into this model too. Based on experience, the Bank will roll out this model in every district at the centers where the connectivity is good. As an estimate Bank plans to open over 300 Kiosks in the year 2014-15. On the occasion quite good number of people shown interest in availing the doorstep banking facilities. On the occasion Sri J V Purohit, General Manager, , Sri HCB Sinha Regional Manager, Sri P H Singh, Chief Manager Nirala Nagar branch and other staff were also present. In the end, Sri Anwer Husain, Chief Manager (FID) not only gave vote of thanks to but also assured all for the continued best services to bank clients.
